Our History

A century of experience

We began life in 1933 as specialists in the handling of fine art and antiques for galleries, art dealers, and private clients.

Today, we’re one of the world’s foremost international fine art logistics firms. We act as the custodians of our clients’ irreplaceable possessions and are dedicated to the seamless execution of each project. Our reach has grown with our skills and services and today we provide a full suite of fine art logistics solutions globally with offices in London, Paris, Miami, Palm Beach, San Francisco, New York and Los Angeles.

Humble beginnings

In the midst of global changes, 1933 saw the start of a venture by Walter Gander & Frank White – a company devoted to the international packing and shipping of art.

Our New Home

As World War II concludes, 1948 marks our relocation to a new warehouse in Earl’s Court.

A Royal Summons

Amidst historical shifts, we receive a royal summons from Iraq’s General Kassem to transport the furniture collection of the late King Feisal to Baghdad from our London warehouse.

Handle with Care

It’s the 1970s and we are entrusted with shipping the world famous Cinzano Glass collection as it travels across the globe.

ICEFAT Founded

A milestone year as we join forces with other shipping firms in the art logistics community to found ICEFAT, the official, worldwide democratic organisation today representing over 70 of the finest independent art transportation firms from 34 countries.
