Our reach has grown with our skills and services and today we provide a full suite of fine art logistics solutions globally with offices in London, Paris, Miami, Palm Beach, San Francisco, New York and Los Angeles.
In the midst of global changes, 1933 saw the start of a venture by Walter Gander & Frank White – a company devoted to the international packing and shipping of art.
As World War II concludes, 1948 marks our relocation to a new warehouse in Earl’s Court.
Amidst historical shifts, we receive a royal summons from Iraq’s General Kassem to transport the furniture collection of the late King Feisal to Baghdad from our London warehouse.
It’s the 1970s and we are entrusted with shipping the world famous Cinzano Glass collection as it travels across the globe.
A milestone year as we join forces with other shipping firms in the art logistics community to found ICEFAT, the official, worldwide democratic organisation today representing over 70 of the finest independent art transportation firms from 34 countries.
The 1980s herald our 50th anniversary.
A significant chapter unfolds as we open our Sussex facilities, strategically positioned close to many of Sotheby’s estate auctions.
Our New York facilities open, catering to the boom in antiques and collaborating with prominent dealerships for seamless transatlantic deliveries.
The iconic Ashes trophy departs Lord’s, entrusted to our care for a historic journey to the Victoria & Albert Museum, marking only the third time in history it has left Lord’s.
Amidst a glittering reception at Avenue Matignon, our Paris facilities open.
Gander & White Florida handles the installation of monumental sculptures in public places for the exhibition, The Baroque World of Fernando Botero at The Society of the Four Arts, Palm Beach, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Saint Petersburg, Florida.
We bed into our new location in West Palm Beach and build a local network to allow us to seamlessly manage the transport logistics for the first Art Basel Miami Beach in 2002.
Our Miami facilities open, driven by unprecedented demand in the region where there is a growing collector base.
In our 85th year, we are honoured to be granted a Royal Warrant to Her Majesty The Queen for Fine Art Services.
In the vibrant landscape of San Francisco, we open facilities aimed at engaging with the dynamic interior design community.
With a strategic move, we set up facilities in LA, spanning both coasts and solidifying our bi-coastal presence. 2018 also sees us become the Official Shipper of Frieze UK.
Our commitment endures as we extend and upgrade our facilities in West Palm Beach and San Francisco.
We are instructed on a milestone project for the National Portrait Gallery, decanting, storing and reinstalling the world-famous collection to support the three-year renovation.
